The Trantech TTMS Melt Pressure Sensor is a high-temperature pressure transmitter specifically designed for measuring the pressure of molten polymers during plastic extrusion, injection moulding and polymer processing. Engineered to withstand high process temperatures while maintaining excellent measurement accuracy, the TTMS provides stable pressure monitoring to improve product quality, protect extrusion equipment and optimise production efficiency
  • High-temperature operation — designed for molten polymer temperatures that can typically reach 300–400°C or higher, depending on model.
  • High pressure ranges — commonly available from 0–100 bar up to 0–1,500/2,000 bar, depending on configuration.
  • Strain-gauge or thin-film sensing technology for accurate, repeatable pressure measurement.
  • Direct melt measurement through a robust diaphragm designed for contact with molten polymer.
  • 4–20 mA, 0–10 V and 0–5 V outputs available on amplified versions for direct connection to PLCs, controllers and process monitoring systems.
  • High accuracy — typical options include ±0.25%, ±0.5% or ±1% FS.
  • Fast response for monitoring pressure fluctuations and supporting closed-loop extrusion control.
  • Rugged stainless-steel construction for demanding extrusion environments.
  • Special diaphragm materials/coatings available to resist high temperature, wear and polymer adhesion.
  • Standard mounting threads, commonly 1/2″-20 UNF, with M14 × 1.5 and M18 × 1.5 options also available.
  • Optional melt temperature measurement — combined pressure and temperature versions can incorporate a Type J thermocouple or other temperature element.
  • Suitable for extrusion and injection moulding, including die pressure, breaker plate pressure, melt pump monitoring and nozzle pressure applications.
  • Mercury-free designs available, eliminating the environmental and handling concerns associated with older mercury-filled melt pressure sensors.
