PASSENGER NOTICE: SOSHANGUVE EMERGENCY TICKETS

16 January 2024

Putco will no longer be issuing handwritten emergency tickets as of 1 February 2025. Emergency tickets were a temporary solution in the event that the machine on the bus became faulty. Now that the SmartTap system is fully functional and other backup measures have been put in place, the use of this ticket is not necessary.

Furthermore, passengers paying cash for their trips will only be able to transfer from one bus to another at official transfer points. These include Mabopane Station, Belle Ombre, Eastlynne, Block XX, Constantia Park and Menlyn. This move will prevent card declines and ensure smooth travel. Passengers have three opportunities to transfer during a one-way journey. This change is effective 1 February 2025.

In addition, we appeal to those using cash, to register and use SmartTap cards as this is more favourable and safer for everyone.
