Here are some things to consider when purchasing aircon units:
- The BTU number mentioned on the aircon box describes the cooling and heating strength of the aircon unit per square cubic meter. A larger room will require an aircon with a higher BTU.
- Some aircon brands include material for the installation of the aircon, material included consists of refrigerant piping and communication cable. Not all brands include material and this is important when working out the cost of installation.
- Aircon units need to be serviced every 6 months for inland and every 3 months for coastal residences. Failure to service your aircon can impact the performance of the aircon and the warranty on the unit.
